Youth Parliament

Youth Parliament provides a unique forum for young people aged 15–25 to express their views, become advocates for their community and learn about South Australia's parliamentary system.

The Youth Parliament program runs from March to August every year and includes:

  • mentoring
  • a training weekend
  • a week-long camp
  • access to Parliament House.

Regional scholarships are available to support the costs of:

  • travel to and from Adelaide and accommodation for a training weekend
  • travel to and from Adelaide for the residential week.

Youth Parliament has supported over 1,000 young leaders to learn about:

  • the South Australian parliamentary system
  • voting procedures
  • parliamentary etiquette
  • public speaking
  • leadership
  • bill development

in a professional, supportive and exciting environment.

The program is managed by the YMCA South Australia (SA) and supported by the Government of South Australia through the Department of Human Services.
