Charter of Rights for Children and Young People in Care

The Office of the Guardian for Children and Young People advocates for and promotes the rights and best interests of the children and young people under the guardianship of the Minister for Education and Child Development.

The Office for the Guardian is home to Charter of Rights for Children and Young People in Care. The Charter was originally developed 2005-06, in consultation with children and young people, carers, social workers and people from Government and Non-Government Organisations. The Office for Youth endorses the Charter of Rights to ensure the best care for children and young people.
